2012 Red Bull Monserrate MTB Urban Downhill

RedBull put on some pretty epic events, they usually push the boundaries of extreme and they have done it once again. The Red Bull Urban Downhill Run held at Monserrate, Bogota Columbia is just one such event. Some of the world’s best downhill moutain bikers gather together in Bogotá for this amazing and unique mountain bike race. The race held on the Monserrate Mountaina foot path one of Colombia’s most famous landmarks provides a tough chalange for all competitors due to the massive amount of steps, and of course as always with downhill mountain biking events the fastest rider down the steep and slippery course has the biggest balls of all……oh and wins the event.

Blow Job By Tadao Cern

Tadas Černiauskas is a Lithuanian photographer who has recently put together a colection of funny photos entitled “Blow Job”. Unsespecting visitors to the Tado Cern studio were asked if they wanted to take part in the Blow Job photo shoot where a current of air was blasted into the models face whilst shooting their portrait with some prety funny results and some amazinge facial expressions.

I wanted to do something very fun for myself and the visitors, just laugh and have a good time. I was surprised that there were so many laid-back people who were not afraid to look funny! Spacious studio was bursting at the seams and everyone was crying with laughter, laughing at themselves and at each other. Everyone (and there were more than one hundred!) who dared to stand up in front of my lens that evening will remember this photo shoot for a long time and have an extraordinary shot in his album” .

Harry Main has got some mad BMX skills, Harry brings it like no other in this new Nike edit. Harry throws down in his own unique style riding spots in Madrid, Barcelona, an insane 15 mile drainage ditch also gets a going over and sees Harry taking the flair drop out of the park for the first time. Harry also smashesshes up the aptly named ‘Scouse House’ his own private BMX park in Liverpool.

Project Zeron a physical and digital interaction element

This is kinda crazy and is just weird to watch. Jinha Lee a PHD student and research assistant at Tangible Media Group of the MIT Media Lab has been working on what he calls project ZeroN. ZeroN is a physical and digital interaction element that floats and moves in space by computer-controlled magnetic levitation but both people and the computer can move the ZeroN at the same time, this alows people and computers to interact physical within a three dimensional environment.

Skynet is here people, Its nuts and watching the video is like watching something straight out of a science fiction film, I guess its because you don’t often see balls of metal floating in space that seem to have a mind of their own.

British Birds made from Lego

When I was a kid Lego was one of my favorite toys. I always seemed to loose some vital component, the instructions, one of the little dudes heads, a wheel or something crucial in my child’s mind to the completion of my Lego masterpiece. I would spend ages trying to substitute the missing piece using the other bits and would end up with a wonky car with one square wheel or a house with doors for windows but I guess that’s the joy of Lego, you can just build what you want.

Well my eight year old Lego skills crumbled in comparison to this dudes. Thomas Poulsom is a lover of Lego and birds and decided to combine his passions by creating as near to scale as possible a series of his favorite British birds using Lego. Tasso amazing graffiti street art

German street artist Tasso is a master with a spray. Tasso is not just a street artist, he has produced some amazing canvas and sketch work along with publishing a book entitled Maclain: Finest Fotorealistic Graffiti in 2006 displaying the artwork of the Ma’claim art group he put together in 2001. Very little is known about Tasso (aka ta55o) other than his can skills are badass.

Swimming with Jellyfish

Some folks swim with dolphins, some folks swim with sharks but this dude decided to take a dip in Jellyfish Lake.

Located in Palau thousands of years ago these jellyfish became trapped in a natural basin on the island when the ocean receded and Jellyfish Lake was created. Over time they evolved into a new species that lost their stinging ability as they have no natural predators in the lake.

Even if they cant sting its still a bit creepy.

The Eagleman Stag BAFTA winning short film

The Eagleman Stag is one of the best shot films that we have seen in a long time, its not surprising it has won over 20 awards including the BAFTA Best Animated Short 2011. A little strange but beautifully stunning to watch this short film can only be described as a mini masterpiece.

The Eagleman Stag is the 2011 BAFTA award winning Royal College of Art thesis film of director / writer MIKEY PLEASE. It’s mostly made out of some strange white stuff, found in the back of a stress cushion. Mikey worked with his brother BENEDICT PLEASE who composed the soundtrack and score, as well as the vocal talents of cult actor DAVID CANN who lends his voice here to Peter Eagleman.

Using over 100 different sets and thousands of hand sculpted models to tell the to the story of Peter Eagleman, a man obsessed with time, the perception of time and an obsession with the idea that time represents different fractions of ones life dependent on their age. Obsessed with the speeding up of time as one grows older and the potential ability to reverse the aging process Peter Eagleman is shown from birth to death as his life’s work is uncovered in the journey. When he accidentally discovers a potential answer to his lifetime of worry has Eagleman stag found what he is looking for?

The Eagleman Stag uses stop motion animation and an amazing narrative soundtrack and story to draw in the viewer making the 9 minute film fly by in what seems a few seconds.

Although the film looks like it is CGI Mikey Please and the team behind The Eagleman Stag created everything from main characters down to the grass by hand using a secret foam (apparently discovered in a stress pillow) and a scalpel. The resulting film and characters are not what the viewer usually expects to see from using the Wallace and Gromit style stop motion filming technique usually associated with characters made from plasticine or clay.
